There's been a lot of discussion lately about the new Dell Dock http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R186613&SystemID=STUDIO1536&servicetag=&os=WLH&osl=en&deviceid=17533&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=25&fileid=262915. This new dock was designed by Stardock for Dell.

There are a lot of cool new features and levels of functionality in the Dell Dock (like categories, which are somewhat like stacks or flyout menus), which I hope Stardock will include in the next version ObjectDock Plus. In my opinion, however, OD+ is much more flexible. For instance, one can add docklets to OD+, but seemingly cannot do this on the Dell Dock. Also, OD+ is much easier to skin. It is possible to skin the Dell Dock, but it is nowhere near as "skinner friendly" as OD+.

Still, it would be worth your while to download and try the Dell Dock. If Stardock ever decided to marry the Dell Dock with OD+... oh my! would it be a wonderful thing!

Dell Dock is a good app for those new to docks. However, for us seasoned users of these mighty apps, something like regular OD would better suit me.

Thanks to the reply from Lantec in #29, I got the dell dock to finally add all my games and all my stardock stuff and other stuff I wanted to add to it

It worked for me to set the "properties" as "RUN as Administrator" and I also set it "Run Compatability mode as Windows XP service Pack 2". It worked the charm and now the dock is all set up and customize.
I am running a Dell xps 410 desktop wiff Vista Ulimate. Hubby runs a Dell Insperon Laptop wiff Vista.

The dock works Great for me now.. wierdly enough though hubby tried it and still can't add stuff to his categories.

Thanks all for the advice.
Will post more if we can kick hubby's to work just fine

Again thanks all and I LOVE this Dock

my Fav now.. I loved the impulse dock but was dissapointed that it couldn't be moved or colored or customized such as that.
This dell dock takes the best of Object Dock and the Impulse dock and puts them in a great Dock..Least in my opnion
