It's a good thing to do!
Published on August 26, 2008 By Mirsguy In Fences Beta
I just downloaded the first beta version of Fences, and do I ever like it! I am not one who usually keeps icons on the desktop (due to ObjectDock), however I do occasionally put things on my desktop temporarily. For those temporary icons I put there, fences is a wonderful invention! Thanks Jeff!

The only glitch I have found so far is that I am not able to right-click and drag out a new Fence while the RightClick program is running. When I right-click to drag out a new fence, my RightClick menu pops up. I had to unload RightClick, and then Fences worked like a charm.

It would be nice if the two could harmonize. Either way, I see this application becoming one of the greats from Stardock!

I agree with someone above about new icons needed to go into a fence somewhere.

Is there a way to turn fences OFF?

It's pretty integrated with the desktop.  You can't unload at this time.  Jeff said in another post that loading/unloading has bad effects on Explorer.

I love it. It's exactly what I have been looking for. This is gonna be very useful for me. I've had no issues, problems. It runs great. This is a really awesome app!

This. Absolutely love it. Now I can look at my desktop without weeping blood. (I seriously used to weep blood at the sight of my desktop. True fact.)

It's really working perfectly, I've done everything I can think of to break it, and nothing's worked.

I'm loving this - this is what I've needed since Microsoft pretty much threw away icon groups from Windows 3 and shoved everything into the Start Menu in Windows 95 .

BTW, I noticed that when you first install, it can create Fences for Programs, Files & Docs, Folders, etc - I think it would be very nice to be able to modify some sort of set of rules or filters, and be able to apply them at any time, and have them automatically applied to new items.

AGREE!!!! this would be nice  also to have NEW icons places in the correct fence when they are created.
