I'm going to go all-out this time. I'm beginning work on the first WindowBlind in a trilogy of themes. The family of themes is caled Valence Shell, which will be futuristic and sci-fi.

Each theme will include skins for WindowBlinds, ObjectDock, IconPackager, and possibly CursorFX.

I am starting off with Valence Shell 1: Plasma Canon, which is a steel mixed with a little dark glass, and a lot of plasma green highlights.

Valence Shell 2: Ultra Violet and Valence Shell 3: Proton Beam will follow.

These skins will be designed for Windows 7, Vista & XP.

OK, does this mean 3 DXes?

OK, does this mean 3 DXes?

Yep. All 3 skins will be "related," but they will be different.

Unlike the Miricla-Tinted-Frosted series, these will not just be recolored editions.

Well Glen, Syd, I teach InDesign at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. I also teach a Design Principles course and am also in charge of the Media & Graphic Design Major at the college. Besides that, I DO most of the design for the college, that is, until all my student workers come back this Fall.

And now that I've tooted my own horn...

How about a progress report or release date?

These last 2 weeks I've been extremely busy with a project for the college. I've had very little time for anything but that project. When I did find leisure time, I was doing the Elementals Fire docks for Mr. Paul.

Honestly, I haven't touched Plasma Cannon since about July 1st. Next week will be crazy busy too. Should have time after that. Don't know what to say about ETA, except "stay tuned!"

I like this Brian!!!! Dxes in my future!!!!!

Thanks Jim! I can always count on you!

Unfortunately, good tutorials for InDesign are very hard to come by. I would recommend getting the "Adobe InDesign CS(fill in the blank) Classroom in a Book." The book can be a bit tedious, but it's very in depth and thorough--taught me sufficiently enough to be able to teach my class!

One option for getting that book is to subscribe to Safari Books Online. This is how I do it. You pay like $20 per month or so, and you get to have 10 digital copies of books in your library.
